CATCHING LIGHT

GLASS NET

GlassNet_GaëlleBurcklé

Catching Light is first and foremost a sort of  material.

Electrical cables, sheathed by a copper cord, which can be handled with both flexibility and rigidity.

Thanks to  its qualities, this created material can be animated by light. According to the  angle of light its perception changes subtly. This is accentuated by transparent glass tubes.

Thank you to the ASTG Workshop for its contribution of glass.

This pattern was created for Paris Deco Off 2019 contest.
It is inspire by the thaï fishes display. The entire marin world is laying down an ice landscape. This  accumulation of beauty is stoning : we are forgetting that they aren’t a live anymore, only the beautiful colors stays. The blue prawns last in my memories for ever. They where so beautiful tighten again each others. This contrast between beauty and death, was the idea of this bright and melancholic pattern. This wall paper pattern remember the beauty of the prawns in their details, while you are in a fish restaurant.
